Easy Homemade Tomato Sauce

Go take a look in your pantry and take a look at the ingredients in a can of tomato sauce. Glucose-Fructose is probably the second or third ingredient right? That's just non-sense. You don't need sugar in your spaghetti!!

You can make a delicious, home-made tomato sauce that is quick and easy. This recipe involves barely any kitchen skills, and I made it in the same time that it took for the spaghetti squash to make. About 25 minutes? That's not too bad, eh!?

Here you go: Easy Homemade Tomato Sauce


1 tbsp coconut oil
1 onion, minced
4 garlic cloves, minced
4 field tomatoes, minced
5 oz tomato paste
2 tbsp fresh basil, minced
1/4 tsp dried oregano (or 2-3 drops oil of oregano)
1/2 tsp marjoram
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 C olive oil (or grape seed oil)


Melt the coconut oil in a skillet on medium heat. Add onion and cover.

When the onion is transparent, add the minced garlic.

After 2-3 minutes, add in the remaining ingredients and cover.

It will take about 10 minutes for the tomatoes and tomato paste to start looking more like a sauce. Give it a stir every few minutes or so, to make sure that the sauce is cooking evenly. 

That's it! I made this sauce for my nature's-noodle spaghetti. 

Feel free to add cooked meat balls, ground beef, bison, or chicken to the sauce.

For a vegan option, add mushrooms and/or tofu instead of meat
